Troop 76

Los Altos

About Us

Troop 76 draws members from all the surrounding communities: Palo Alto, Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, and Mountain View. The troop is very active in outdoor activities—backpacking, hiking, snow camping, fishing, canoeing, rafting and more. We go on an average of one trip every month, giving scouts the opportunity to both learn skills and have fun. An unusually high percentage of the troop's members go on to earn the rank of Eagle Scout, scouting's highest rank and an acknowledged indicator of future leadership. We are a part of the Pacific Skyline Council along with other local troops.

Goals

Troop 76 focuses on providing boys with opportunities and challenges in leadership, outdoorsmanship, skill development, and personal achievement that will help them grow into responsible, well-rounded, confident, achievement-oriented young men. Public service activities are especially emphasized by the Troop.

Join the Troop

Troop 76 welcomes new members into the troop year-round. No previous scouting experience is required to participate—just a willingness to learn and have fun. Boys in our locale from age 11 to 17 years of age, whether former cub/boy scouts or completely new to scouting, are invited to attend a meeting and try the Troop 76 experience. They are held at 7:30 PM at the Foothills Congregational Church in Los Altos every Tuesday. (The schedule in the Summer may be a bit different; contact our scoutmaster for more information)

Activities

Troop 76 tends to like more outdoors-oriented trips. We regularly take trips to nearby parks and attend council-wide events that take place at local scout camps. Some of our upcoming trips can be found below.
